Santosh, the widow of an Indian constable killed during a riot, inherits his job and is appointed to a rural town where she hears of the disappearance of a 15 year old girl. Police indifference leads Santosh to begin down the path of investigation alone and into a story full of twists and turns. This is a challenging film dealing with misogyny and police brutality which asks hard questions about a culture’s social hierarchy. A strong and effective performance by the two main actors along with casting of non-actors gives the film an authentic feel which adds to its intensity
